Smoke Me Tender BBQ team competed in the Rock’n Blues & BBQ contest at Golden City, Missouri on October 10-11, 2008.   Golden City is located in southwest Missouri, near the borders of Oklahoma and Arkansas. 

Twenty-two teams competed in numerous categories.  In addition to the KCBS- sanctioned events (chicken, ribs, pork and brisket).   This contest also included judging and awards for People’s Choice, sides and beans.  When the smoke cleared, Smoke Me Tender had earned the overall Reserve Grand Champion title.   Their best individual places were second for chicken, third for both ribs and brisket.  (For complete results, see www.kcbs.us).    This was a well-run event, especially considering this was it first year.
