Smoke Me Tender BBQ competed in the inaugural Wheels 'n' Squeels festival and barbecue contest in Olathe, Kansas.  What a wonderful event!  Even with 100-degree heat and gusty wind to contend with, it went well and you would never know that this was their first year.

Dipman Goodyear at K7 and 135th sponsored this contest.  On Saturday morning, we delivered pulled pork for their guys.  From what we understand, they were waiting on it and ready to dig in!

Aaron took 10th place in pork while the rest of us could only hope.  We finished 18th overall out of 48 teams.  This is the first time our chicken has not hit the top 10 in the past year.  There were several top 20 nationally ranked teams entered in this competition.  Congratulations to Pickled Pig, the Grand Champions.

Some of the highlights were the huge military helicopter that hovered and then landed and the car show.  There were a lot of activities for the public who attended.  Can’t wait to see what they come up with next year!
